Rick never learns. This morning before he went to work at some unreasonable time of day, he tried to tell me that there was a dove in the kennel building. Since I have no working brain cells at any point prior to, say, 8 am, it didn't sink in, but fortunately he sent me an email about it so when I returned from training at Heartwell at 1 pm, I went to look. Yup, there was a mourning dove perched on one of the runs.
During the process of trying to catch it, or get it out of the building without it beating itself up on the windows, all it's tail feathers came out. So when I finally did catch it, I figured we'd better keep it until the feathers grew back, as birds don't fly very well without tails. For now, it's in a crate in the dog room to see if it makes it a day without dying of shock.
Pretty thing isn't it? I hope it lives until I can let it go again!
Found this online today - ;-)
