Progress

I don't know if you all can tell from this picture, but we put the first coat of paint on the ceiling this weekend - in real life, it looks MUCH better!
And, the shutters are almost done!  I only have one side of two of them left to give one coat of paint, and they can go back in the bedroom.  I am really not going to miss the streetlight shining in my eyes while I try to sleep...
We have about two and a half weeks left to get things done... eek

Work goes on

We got the bead board up on the ceiling of the guest room - now we will get the trim that goes around the edges and up that up this weekend.  Then, I'll have to get moving and get those shutters painted so I'm done making a mess before Rick is ready to paint the walls!  ;-)

More Washington flowers

Well, Dodger broke in the first series, so we got an early start to the obedience trial in Canby, OR tomorrow.  Meaning I also had time to stop and take more pictures!  ;-)

The Iris in the top picture was at the hunt test site and the bottom two were off the 520 near Marymoor Park.  I also took a picture of Proxy among the red poppies, since red is her color!
Hopefully she'll pick up another UD leg tomorrow, but either way we'll be on the road home by noon and I am so ready to be home!!

Washington flower pics

I figured I'd better clear the pictures off of my camera that I've been taking all week!

These were near Karin's house, the friend I've been staying with this past week - she lives near Spanaway.

These two were along Hwy 18 on the way to the test grounds - the top one is probably an Iceland Poppy and the bottom is a Cornflower.
This one was next to the Fall City-Carnation highway.

These two were at Pepper's, which is where the hunt test will be held tomorrow - bottom one is Foxglove.
This last one was in a vacant lot next to a Petsmart!  ;-)

on the road again!

Dodger, Proxy and I are currently in Oregon, having flunked out of a Master Hunter test that I am still pretty happy with, then on to an obedience trial where Proxy earned her first UD leg and Dodger finished his GN.  We stopped to train a couple of times on the way up and I found a ton of wildflowers.

These are all from Denman Wildlife area, which is near Central Point, OR.  It was a good place to train, but overrun with ticks!  I'm still picking them off, over two days later - ick.

These are from the (HUGE) test site, at Glide, OR.  It was, no joke, 2.5 miles from where we camped on the grounds, to the place where they held the first and second series.  Really nice grounds, good tests, Dodger just has some things to work on before next Saturday!

We also, er, found some local wildlife - a banana slug.  I am sooo glad I don't live in a place that has things like this any more!

misc stuff

Saturday Rick and I took Dodger & Proxy down to the San Diego area to train at Raney's again.  He has a ton of wildlife on his place, and at one point we were joined by turkeys.  I honestly don't know how these things manage to stay alive - there we are shooting guns and sending dogs all over and these silly birds come down to watch!  With their chicks!!  The little dark things around the bird on the right are the chicks.
On Monday, I obedience train at a park in Long Beach.  Every spring the Jacaranda trees go nuts with these beautiful purple blossoms.

Going back to the weekend, we showed the girls on Sunday - and Teaz won.  Sigh.  So Proxy still needs four minor points, and Teaz is now pointed.

the mystery amphibian departs

Well, the mystery man turned out to be a frog after all!  Not long after he got his front legs, he turned brown, and then started sucking in his long tail.  When he got down to a little nub, I took him back to the pond at Prado where he came from.
